WillowTalk 2.0 TM Let's Your Programs talk to you!
Overview:
WillowTalk reads, in computer voices, the text from many documents, including popular word
processors, spreadsheets, Internet web browsers, Help files, and many other programs.
WillowTalk automatically detects which of your open documents it can read. You just select
among these documents and click the Play button to hear the text!

With WillowTalk you can
do useful and fun things, such as:
 | "Read" documents, including Internet web pages, without
looking at your computer screen |
 | Proof-read a column of numbers youve typed into a spreadsheet
against your hard copy version |
 | Use an application full-screen while your PC reads the application
Help file to you |
 | Have your PC periodically announce the time and date and even play a
computer speech or wave file alarm at a time you set |
 | Hear how a speech you are writing will sound, and have WillowTalk
time how long it will take to present |
 | Create audio "scripts" or "plays" in which
multiple characters speak their lines in different voices.
|
This is great fun for kids, and should be useful to you amateur
script writers. (See below.)
Unique Features That Will Make You Smile
And WillowTalk includes some nice touches that you are sure to appreciate.
 | WillowTalk lets you:
Tell it how to pronounce unusual words or abbreviations, using the WillowTalk exceptions
dictionary.
|
 | Use hotkeys instead of a mouse to switch among and
read your open documents. This is handy, especially for people with bad eyesight.
|
 | Use the rewind button (or hotkey) to start reading
again from the beginning of the current sentence. This lets you hear the text again if
you've missed a word.
|
 | Choose to listen to an entire document or just a
selected portion.
Modify and save the computer voices, making them faster or slower for example.
|
 | Reduce the amount of screen space the WillowTalk user
interface uses.
|
 | Use almost all of the functions with a single mouse
click or hotkey.
One of the coolest features, shown here, is the ability to create "plays" or
"scripts" using computer voices. Each character speaks his lines in sequence,
and of course you can save the scripts in files and share them with other WillowTalk
users.
